Surface Preparation:

Surface to be coated must be clean, dry and contaminant-free. Follow NOFMA Guidelines for sanding.

Old floors - use medium grit (50, 60, 80) sandpaper to remove old finish or wax, and to level the floor. Depending on the build-up of old finish start with a coarse grit (36, 40 ) sandpaper then move to a medium grit . Finish-off with fine grit (80, 100, 120, 150) sandpaper for final cut.

New floors - use medium grit to level floor and finish-off with fine grit sandpaper. Vacuum and tack with lint-free towel dampened with water or mineral spirits.

Following surface preparation, apply one coat of sealer with recommended applicator. For porous surfaces, apply two (2) coats of sealer. Always work with the grain. Apply continuously and always start and stop where the floor and the wall intersect. Let dry 1 hour. Buff with used 120 grit screen or maroon pad. Vacuum all dust and tack with lint-free towel dampened with water or mineral spirits. Let dry completely. Always buff, vacuum, tack and dry floor in between coats.
