Product Description and Uses:

A two-component, post-catalyzed lacquer used for interior wood surfaces providing excellent protection and depth to any wood surface such as furniture and millwork applications.

Product Advantages:

Suggested Uses:

Schwartz Post-Cat Lacquer is used for finishing interior wood surfaces.

Catalyst:

94X1

Mixing Ratio:

10:1 with 94X1 by volume.

Mixing Instructions:

Schwartz Post-Cat must be catalyzed before use.

Mix well but avoid excessive stirring or shaking as this can cause bubbles to form.

Recommended System:

Schwartz Post-Cat Lacquer is designed as a self-sealing finish over bare wood.

For best results, seal with 1 coat of Schwartz 92C1 followed by 2 even coats of Schwartz Post-Cat Lacquer at 3-5 mils wet film thickness per coat.

Always allow to dry and scuff sand between coats.

Application Tools:

Apply by spray.

Coverage:

534 sq ft/gal (3 mils Wet Film); 320 sq ft/gal (5 mils Wet Film)

Dry Time:

Tack Free Time = 15 - 20 minutes.
To Sand = 2 - 2.5 hours.
To Recoat = 2 - 2.5 hours.

25C, 60% RH - cold temperature and high humidity can cause prolonged dry times.

Recoat time:

2 - 2.5 hours (25C, 60% RH)

Clean-up Solvent:

4T100 Lacquer Thinner.

Reducer:

4T100 Lacquer Thinner.

Retarder:

4T175

Pot Life:

8 hours

Surface Preparation:

Surfaces must be clean, dry and contaminant-free.

Sand wood with 150-grit sandpaper before staining or coating.

Remove all dust.

When sealer or topcoat is sanded, always apply succeeding coat within 8 hours of sanding.

Sand between coats with 280 - 320 grit sandpaper.

Ambient Conditions:

Use only when ambient conditions are 18°C to 30°C and RH = 40 - 60%.

Finish temperature must be > 15°C.

Wood moisture content must be between 6 - 10%

Application:

Following surface preparation; apply by spray.

Check with equipment manufacturer for settings to achieve the correct atomization.

For best results, seal bare wood with 1 coat of 92C1 Pre-Cat Sanding Sealer followed by 2 even coats of Schwartz Post-Cat Lacquer at 3 - 5 mils wet film thickness per coat.

Always allow to dry and scuff sand between coats with 280-320 grit sandpaper.

Film build of entire system must not exceed 5 mils dry film thickness.

Storage:

Store indoors away from heat, ignition source, wet conditions and direct sun.

Warning:

AVOID sparking - use non-sparking tools.

Avoid open flames, turn off all pilot lights and ensure that work area is properly ventilated.

Soiled rags and waste products may contain combustible liquids or vapours, dispose in accordance with local regulations.
