Product Description and Uses:

Schwartz Wood Floor Sealer is a water-borne, non-flammable; voc compliant wood sealer.

Easily to apply and offers excellent tannin blocking properties.

Product Advantages:

  2. Seals wood effectively preventing penetration of subsequent finish coats.
  3. Excellent adhesion to wood.
  4. Specially formulated to minimizes grain raising for a smoother end finish.
  5. Minimizes side bonding reducing the risk of cupping and panelization.

  7. Applies white but dries clear for a uniform application.

Suggested Uses:

For use on interior commercial and residential hardwood floors and gymnasiums.

Mixing Instructions:

Ready for use, DO NOT THIN.

DO NOT MIX WITH OTHER FINISHES - doing so will render finish unusable.

Stir manually before use.

Coating System:

Use with Schwartz Premium Polyurethane Floor Water-borne Floor Finishes.

Apply 1 coat (3 mils wet film) to most wood species.

For high tannin containing wood species, such as white oak, apply 2 coats of Schwartz Wood Floor Sealer prior to applying Schwartz Premium Polyurethane Water-borne Wood Floor Finish.

Application Tools:

Apply Floor Finish using T-bar, wood block mop or roller with synthetic pad, lambswool or synthetic bristle Brush.

USE only when ambient conditions are18°C to 30°C and RH is 40 - 60%.

To aid in drying, allow for good air movement.

Always allow new floors to acclimate prior to finishing.

Coverage:

530 sq ft/gal or 49.3 m2/3.78L (3 mils Wet Film)

Dry Time:

Tack free = 2 hour (25C, 60% RH)

Dry hard = 2-4 hrs (25C, 60% RH)

Recoat time:

2 hrs (25C, 60% RH)

Surface Preparation:

Surface to be coated must be clean, dry and contaminant-free.

Follow NOFMA Guidelines for sanding.

Old Floor:

Use medium grit (50,60,80) sandpaper to remove old finish or wax, and to level the floor.

Depending on the build-up of old finish start with a coarse grit (36, 40 ) sandpaper then go to a medium grit .

Finish off with Fine grit (80, 100, 120, 150) sandpaper.

New Floor:

Use Medium grit to level floor.

Vacuum and tack with lint-free towel dampened with water.

Ambient Conditions:

Use only when ambient conditions are 18°C to 30°C and RH = 40 - 60%.

Finish temperature must be > 15°C.

Wood moisture content must be between 6 - 10%

Application:

Following surface preparation, apply first coat of 81C1 with recommended applicator.

Always work with the grain.

Apply continuously and always start and stop where the floor and wall intersect.

Never stop in the middle of a floor.

Let dry for 2 hrs.

DO NOT abrade, buff or sand.

Apply second coat if wood contains high tannin content.

SEALER does not need sanding nor buffing prior to application of finish coat.

Storage:

Protect from freezing.

Store indoors between 10C to 35C.
